i am awake but i keep my eyes wide shut
'cause when i open my eyes
another nightmare begins
feel the heavy burden pushing down - down on me
a nation of neglect
an absence of mind

tortured by this rage inside i resist this hard reign
crushing your supremacy in the end i won't be beat
empty promises they served me
cracking heads on me
it's a vicious path to get past
this self-destructive state

no more mental dead end streets
the only solution you offered me
throughout all these years
indefensible conditions that eat my soul
standards and principles you set
just watered down

i'm creeping
i'm starving
i'm bleeding
i still live

a tortured man in a tortured world
goin through punishment
this hard reign pulling strings
so as long as this state remains
